Meet the team!

We believe that the world of IT is often used to exploit smaller businesses, by providing a minimum service and taking advantage of those without the time or resource to go it alone.

In the long term, we believe that this is not in the interests of either the client, or the company providing the service.

It is our goal to deliver to our clients the solutions that they need, to a standard fitting to our background in large scale IT consultancy.

Below are some of the key members of staff who will be on hand to help your business create real savings and become more competitive through the use of the right technology.

Phil Haigh

Phil Haigh

Director

Before founding Mercury1 in 2005, Phil was a Lead Architect responsible for designing (architecting) IT system for Ericsson. He has nearly 10 years experience in working with multi-national corporations directly and as a consultant.

Phil has a degree in Physics & Space Science (so Nat likes to call him a rocket scientist), represented England at chess as a junior, and has an IQ of over 160. Despite this, he's actually got a sense of humour and contrary to stereotype, does venture away from the computer screen now and then to do some sport or other.

Little known fact: Phil's shortest employment was 3 hours and 13 minutes in Telesales of timeshares in America. He was (rather understandably) fired for telling the truth when people asked.

When not working: Phil can be found running, pushing his grade on the rocks, reading, travelling or sleeping.

Nat Wilson

Natalie Wilson

Director

Previously having worked for Procter and Gamble both in the UK and Germany she created over a million dollars in savings through her innovation and project management and loves using these skills to bring real benefits to the owners of small and medium businesses.

Nat has a degree in Management and Information Systems, consulted in Switzerland and has been a tutor in Systems Development courses.

Little known fact: Natalie still insists she is scared of heights despite regularly climbing 35m+ vertical pitches.

When not working: Nat likes to dance and sing, rock climb, travel to exciting new places and do occasional voluntary work.

Stewart Ward

Stew Ward

Director

After failing on both of his post university promises to avoid working for a large corporation and definitely not to work in London, Stew was busy working for Accenture for 8 years before joining Mercury1 in April 2010. Stew's experience is extensive but with a focus on customised application delivery particularly within the CRM arena and is no stranger to glamorous European travel with experience working in Paris, Barcelona, Helsinki, Watford & Slough.

Stew has a degree in Physics & Geography, possesses a dry sense of humour and a passion for all things sporty so his weekends are spent partaking in or planning the next challenge.

At 11 he also wrote a computer program for a game on the Amiga to drop small parachutes (a dot which moved from top to bottom) from a moving plane (a larger dot on the screen that moved from left to right). It was as rubbish as it sounds!

Little known fact: Stew is actually a northerner, he just doesn't sound like it.

When not working: Stew is probably on his bike. Or, if not out cycling might be found being pushed to climb up scary overhanging walls by Phil as "it's good for him"!?

Great skills, good sense of humour
