Get to the top of Google
Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of refining all elements of a website in order to appear higher up in the search engines - Google, Yahoo, AOL, MSN search, along with thousands more across the internet.
We can provide a well rounded strategy to boost your search rankings which will inevitably bring more visitors to your site.
SEO is not hard
It should be pointed out that SEO is not rocket-science. It just requires a logical understanding of how search engines work (see below), and what their goal is (to return the sites that people want to find).
There is no 'tricking' a search engine. The search engine's goal is the same as yours - letting your ideal customers find your site. All it requires is fair bit of work. This can easily be done by you or your staff with just a little training, but often customers tell us they just don't have the time.
Our offerings
As a result of the reasonably straightforward nature of SEO work, we offer the following:
- Training, so that you can do it yourself
- Ongoing SEO management if you simply don't have the time
Please contact us to discuss you needs.
How does Google search and rank?
Google uses a spider (a robot program) called Googlebot to search or crawl websites. Googlebot travels the web for finding and indexing pages for the Google search engine. The Googlebot starts with a list of URLs from previous searches and crawls through them, adding any links on the pages to its list to crawl through. So any new pages, or dead links are updated as it searches and finds these links. All the information on pages are processed and indexed so that the most appropriate pages can be displayed then someone types a search query into Google.
Google also uses a concept called PageRank. A PageRank between 0 and 10 is assigned to every webpage on the internet (zero being very poor and 10 being fantastic). This PageRank is a link-based system which measures the quality of links to a webpage and ranks the page accordingly.
The more incoming links (especially better quality links) - the higher your PageRank
All factors of a website - keyword promience and density, meta tages, descriptions, PageRank and more - are used to determine the best suited websites to a search. So all of these factors need to be taken into consideration when designing, writing and even editing your website to ensure maximum potential.
